Turbo is a pop duo group consist of Kim Jong Kook and Kim Jung Nam. They became one of the popular group in Korean Entertainment Industry from 1995 until their disbanment. Unfortunately, Kim Jung Nam left the group because of the crisis with their management. The interview was held to find a new member to replace Kim Jung Nam role as a rapper. Mikey, a resident of California became part of Turbo and they continue to gain popularity. They disbanded in 2000 as their contract with the management ended.
Turbo known as ‘scary kids’ at that time when they gain their popularity rapidly. Their first album became a big hit with the song My Childhood Memories. When they debuted, many people think that it’s a group of a boy and girl because of Kim Jong Kook high pitched vocal.
Because of their popularity, they have a very pack schedule. They also used to dance in every single song and practiced a lot for performance. This lead to the Kim Jong Kook back problem and he took a surgery.
After disband, Kim Jong Kook still continue his good relation with the other members Mikey. He always invite him when performing any Turbo song. He even featuring in Mikey single song ‘All For You’. Mikey also featuring in Kim Jong Kook song which is ‘Long Time’ from Kim Jong Kook fifth album and ‘Nostalgia’ in Kim Jong Kook seventh album recently.

However, because of Haha Xman seem to be new era for Turbo's popularity. He used to imitate Kim Jong Kook dance in Turbo with songs Love Is, My Childhood Memories, Twist King, Black Cat, A Jazz Bar and make excuses to force Kim Jong Kook to dance. His dance a bit slow compared to when he was in Turbo since it’s a dance from 9 years ago and he forgot some steps.
13 years had passed since Turbo disbandment but many people still remember them. They have many loyal fans that support them until now. Kim Jong Kook still sing some of the popular song from his Turbo days in his concert and performance. Recently, Kim Jong Kook also danced to the song Black Cat as they played it in Running Man.
